About the Candidate
We are seeking a proactive and collaborative changemaker who is passionate about creating clear, engaging, and meaningful internal communication that strengthens organisational connection and culture. This person will confidently lead the development and delivery of an Internal Communications Plan, shaping messages that keep staff informed, aligned, and inspired across all campuses and channels. They will be skilled at turning complex updates into accessible content, championing internal communications platforms to enhance engagement, and working closely with colleagues across the whole partnership. With a keen eye for continuous improvement, they will bring fresh ideas, evaluate impact, and help build an inclusive, transparent, and connected environment where staff feel supported, valued and heard.
About the Role
The Communications Lead (Internal Communications) is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of clear, consistent, and effective internal communications across Education Partnership North East (EPNE). Working closely with the Head of Communications, colleagues in People and Organisational Development (P&OD), leadership, and the wider Marketing and Communications team, the postholder will develop and deliver an Internal Communication Plan that keeps staff informed, connected, and aligned with EPNE’s strategic goals, values, and culture. The role supports employee engagement and organisational cohesion by ensuring key messages are communicated across all campuses and internal channels. The role also supports staff voice and contributes to building a positive internal communications environment.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work with the Head of Communications on the development and delivery of a new Internal Communications Plan as part of the overall Communications Strategy for the organisation
2. Lead content planning and production across all internal communications channels online and offline
3. Work with People and Organisational Development to develop and deliver internal campaigns that promote key organisational initiatives
4. Work with the Corporate Engagement Coordinator on the planning, promotion and delivery of internal events such as staff briefings
5. Support external communications, the Communications Team and wider Marketing and Communications Team when needed at key events and during busy periods
Qualifications
6. Undergraduate Degree in a related discipline or relevant marketing or communications experience
