Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Team, Scotland
Support the delivery of a diverse and high‑impact portfolio of water projects, shaping sustainable and resilient water systems for the future. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, providing engineering design, technical specifications, and construction support.
Responsibilities
* Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
* Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, valve schedules, equipment schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs for water projects.
* Liaise and collaborate with water, civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineering teams nationwide.
* Visit sites to carry out surveys and support client, contractor and supplier liaisons.
* Attend and contribute to design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS.
* Line manage and mentor junior and graduate mechanical engineers.
* Complete checking of mechanical deliverables produced by other engineers.

Qualifications
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
* Progress toward Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution, such as IMechE.
* Proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications and calculations with confidence and precision.
* Hands‑on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
