Who we're looking for
As Schroders' Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function continues to evolve, we are seeking a talented individual to join our newly formed Commercial Analysis team. This role will focus on delivering tailored financial analysis on a variety of commercial and regulatory topics. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business and Finance, to bring the benefits of data-driven commercial decision making and embed new processes and approaches where necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or analyst to develop new skills and to build a career in FP&A.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.
What you'll do
Commercial Analysis
* Provide insightful financial analysis to support the commercial strategy for existing and new business opportunities, including pricing, profitability and product performance.
* Create impactful presentations to inform and engage stakeholder with commercial insights.
* Identify drivers of financial performance and recommend actions to optimise results
* Monitor, interpret, and communicate commercial KPIs and market trends
* Develop, maintain, and enhance revenue and expense forecasting models
* Create robust business cases and scenarios analysis to assess potential options and how they support the achievement of Schroders' goals.
Data Sourcing and Review
Gather and structure data from various systems working with data owners/data platform owners to underpin financial analysis. This may include operational or external data sources as well as Finance ones.
Support BAU finance processes and controls
Work closely with the FP&A colleagues and Financial Control team to augment analysis and provide deeper insights during budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting processes.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
* Experience within a Finance or business management team, preferably in investment management or consultancy.
* Understanding of the investment industry's commercial and regulatory landscape will be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
* Critical thinking, high-level collaboration, and the ability to work effectively alongside senior leaders to influence strategic decisions.
* Self-starter with a proven capability for independent work and proactive business support, showing strong initiative.
* Excellent attention to detail and advanced organisational and time management skills.
* Solid understanding of Finance data landscapes will be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
* Financial modelling and data structuring will be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that'll help
* Professional accountancy/Financial Services qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CFA) with evidence of continuous professional development.
* Advanced Excel financial modelling skills and comfortable manipulating large data sets (power query/powerpivot/VBA an advantage)
* Knowledge of financial processes (management reporting, financial close, cost allocations) and systems (Oracle Fusion, HFM, PBCS, Anaplan, Power BI/Power Query).
