A leading national social care provider, headquartered in the South East, is looking for a Rent & Service Charge Accountant to strengthen their finance team. The role is fully remote, so applications are welcomed from across the UK. Youll be responsible for rent and service charge accounting across a large property portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear communication with stakeholders.

The role
Preparing and reconciling rent and service charge accounts
Working closely with the Head of Finance to review and set rate charges and develop service charge policy
Compiling Management Accounts
Ensuring compliance with housing regulations and internal policies
Leading resident consultations and dealing with related queries
Supporting audits and the year-end process
Working with operational and property teams to improve data and processes
Producing clear reports and analysis to support decision making
The person
Were looking for someone with a strong accounting background whos comfortable dealing with both numbers and people. Youll need:
Ideally an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Strong part qualified & QBE applications also considered
Experience in rent and service charge accounting, within the social housing sector is essential
Strong Excel and data reporting skills
Able to demonstrate previous experience of and skills in Management Accounting
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain finance to non-finance colleagues
A proactive approach and willingness to challenge and improve processes
