An established, forward-thinking engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative, sustainable solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to take a leading role in its Derby-based civils team. This position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative environment working on a broad portfolio of projects across the UK.
You will lead a team of skilled Engineers ranging from graduate to chartered level, supporting the technical and financial management of projects from concept through to completion. The work includes a wide variety of civil engineering schemes with a focus on drainage and highway design, often integrated into complex and architecturally sensitive developments including bespoke new builds, refurbishments, and heritage projects. The company places strong emphasis on re-use, sustainability, and creative problem-solving, with a project history that spans everything from eco homes and river engineering to treehouses and museum redevelopments.
With over 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer and demonstrate a strong track record of delivering technically excellent solutions. You'll be confident in leading design teams, managing clients and stakeholders, and contributing to business development efforts. In addition to technical delivery, the role includes overseeing statutory submissions, report writing, and the mentoring and line management of junior and senior Engineers. You'll also play a key part in driving sustainability targets and maintaining compliance with CDM regulations.
