This is a great opportunity for apprentices to gain hands-on experience in the foundry industry within a British-owned company competing globally, with over 150 years in business. William Lee manufactures iron castings for international clients such as BMW, Mercedes, Daimler, Borg, Castings, and GT. With four foundries on site and over 400 staff, there are ample opportunities to learn about the company and be mentored by our skilled team while studying a Level 3 qualification through AMRC Training Centre.
Completion of the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships provides nationally recognized qualifications, valued by employers worldwide. These can lead to careers in Engineering Management and Project Engineering across various sectors.
Role & Responsibilities
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, complying with health and safety requirements to ensure safety for yourself and others.
* Conduct risk assessments for all jobs, including 'Take Two'.
* Communicate effectively with peers and management.
* Work as part of the Maintenance Team to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
* Become proficient in the Company’s TPM maintenance system to ensure efficient plant asset operation.
* Keep the work area clean and tidy after tasks.
* Install and maintain equipment, ensuring production continuity.
* Contribute ideas for plant improvements.
Health, Safety & Environment
* Follow the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Use and maintain personal protective equipment properly.
* Report and record all accidents.
* Manage spillages promptly and ensure emergency equipment is accessible.
You will undertake a Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship, gaining an Engineering qualification at Level 3 upon completion.
Initially, training will be at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre in Rotherham for the first year, followed by weekly attendance for knowledge study.
You will work Monday to Friday; shift times will be determined by the employer.
