Job Summary
Due to clinical service expansion we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team as a Cancer Services Pharmacist. The post holder will provide clinical pharmacy services to Oncology and Haematology patients within the trust, with opportunity to utilise skills in pharmacist prescribing and pre-anticancer treatment assessment. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic pharmacist with an interest in developing their career in Cancer Services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy are required. The role will include participation in weekend working as the Trust develops its seven day service.
Responsibilities
* Providing pharmaceutical advice to the oncology and haematology directorates within the Trust.
* Ensuring effective medicines management and compliance with current standards and statute and coordinating the provision of pharmaceutical care to the Clinical Directorate under the strategic direction of the Consultant Oncology Pharmacist.
* Ensuring compliance with Pharmacy Clinical Governance arrangements.
* Contributing to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and records for the Clinical Pharmacy Service and medicines management.
* Participating in pharmacy core duties including clinical verification of systemic anticancer therapies at advanced level, education and training of pharmacy staff, and contribution to pharmacy evening, weekend and bank holidays rotas.

Essential Qualifications / Training
* MPharm or equivalent Degree in Pharmacy approved by General Pharmaceutical Council
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification)
* Pharmacist prescriber or willing & eligible to complete course in first year of post
Desirable Qualifications
* Member of the RPS
* Management / Leadership training
Essential Knowledge, Experience & Expertise
* Able to demonstrate significant relevant experience of clinical pharmacy practice
* Considerable post-registration hospital experience
* Significant relevant and recent experience of Cancer Services
* Knowledge of Clinical Pharmacy, Medicines Management and Pharmacy Practice
* Computer literate; Pharmacy Practice Research and Clinical Audit
* Clinical trials experience and/or Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
* Management of drug budgets
Desirable Knowledge, Experience & Expertise
* Experience managing staff
* Experience of Homecare, Individual Funding Requests and Blueteq forms
* Experience in clinical verification of SACT prescriptions
