MPI have a requirement for a Trainee Gas Turbine Mechanic to be based in Warwick. Our clients are specialists in Aerospace Gas Turbine Engine repair and supply the Aerospace industry and Aircraft Operators around the World. Rate of pay: £26,000 - £35,000 per annum Working pattern Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:00 with occasional overtime opportunity to support operational demand. 40 hour working week Job Summary The Turbine Mechanic is responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, overhaul, and testing of the Honeywell 131-9 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) & ALF 502/507 Turbine Engine (including its components), in accordance with CAA/EASA and FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and company procedures. The mechanic shall ensure all maintenance actions meet safety, quality, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of Honeywell 131-9 APUs, ALF502/507 and subassemblies. Troubleshoot and identify causes of APU/Engine malfunction or performance degradation. Use precision measuring tools and test equipment to verify compliance with technical specifications. Interpret and apply manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering orders. Document all maintenance activities accurately in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve technical discrepancies. Education & Experience: Minimum 5 GCSE grade C/5 or above including English Language, Mathematics and a Science, or equivalent (checked against a framework). Recognised engineering apprenticeship (experience in a similar working environment may be considered) Ability to follow Health and Safety requirements Good computer literacy Ability to communicate across all business levels Skills & Competencies: Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical & Environmental Requirements Work may involve exposure to noise, oil, solvents, and other shop chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
