Apply Now About the role Balfour Beatty has another splendid opportunity for an Interface Lead managing the construction and coordination of all permanent and temporary works within the conventional station area to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common station development in North-West London. HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction and commissioning of the station in Northwest London. Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station. Construction of the iconic station will support up to 65,000 jobs and 25,000 homes in the local area, helping kick-start one of Britains largest regeneration projects and transforming the former railway and industrial area. A new public park part of the Urban Realm, the external space of the Station, will also be situated to the west of the station, which will act as a green space that welcomes visitors to Old Oak Common and provide a new focal point for the growing community. At peak of construction, the project will employ a direct management team of 140 and a wider workforce of approximately 2,500. What you'll be doing As an Interface Lead, you will be required to manage constructability and coordination of permanent and temporary works - as required to resolve spatial and chronological coordination issues within the conventional station area. Identify construction and design interfaces by reviewing works information, construction programmes and liaising with other BBVS interface leads Manage the conventional station area interface register Liaise with internal and external interfacing parties to resolve construction and/or design interfaces. Main BBVS contact for interface meetings and coordinating internal and external attendance. Record interface resolutions within the interface control document Ensure external and internal engagement captures emerging changes to the interface resolution, these are raised and escalated via early warnings as appropriate, risk reduction reviews, instructed changes and agreed actions to mitigate impact. Review of interface documents from the Lead Design Consultant and Sub-Contractors for technical assurance, for example, agreed Interface Definition Documents, and Interface Registers. Ensure risks associated with interfaces are understood, correctly allocated and suitably mitigated. Monitor the progress towards agreement of interfaces, assumptions and risks for the design and construction phases.
