As a Primary SEN TA, you’ll play a vital part in supporting children with a range of additional needs, ensuring they receive the right care, guidance, and tailored learning experiences to succeed. Your patience, empathy, and creativity will help shape an environment where every child can feel valued, confident, and capable.
The Role of Primary SEN TA:
* Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEN.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials and approaches.
* Encourage social interaction, independence, and confidence in pupils.
* Support with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
* Help maintain an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
* Track and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.
* Uphold safeguarding and child welfare standards at all times.
What You’ll Bring as Primary SEN TA:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN (in school or similar settings).
* A nurturing, patient, and positive attitude.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility and a proactive approach to daily challenges.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply.)
