We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, offering a highly competitive salary of £70,000 – £90,000, plus a company car and performance-based bonus scheme.
This is a standalone role ideal for a highly motivated and experienced sales professional, with a strong background in plastics, manufacturing, or engineering industries, who is confident working independently and able to contribute strategically to the business’s growth.
The successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business acquisition across key industrial sectors, building and nurturing long-term client relationships, and representing the business at meetings, events, and exhibitions.
We are looking for an individual with a solid technical understanding, ideally with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and a proven track record in identifying and converting sales opportunities within a manufacturing environment.
Business Development Manager main duties:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across a range of industrial sectors.
* Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy.
* Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
* Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events.
* Understand and communicate customer requirements effectively with internal teams.
* Interpret technical drawings and assess the feasibility of proposed projects.
* Deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve sales targets.
Business Development Manager required skills and experience:
* Proven experience in a similar business development or sales role within manufacturing, plastics, or related technical industries.
* Technically minded, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Highly self-motivated and results-driven, capable of working autonomously.
* Strong commercial awareness with understanding of production processes.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
