IT Hosting/Provisioning Manager - sought by leading commodity trading firm based in London - Hybrid role
Experience Required:
* Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing technical engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
* Serve as the subject-matter expert for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ensuring robust, secure, and reliable platform operations.
* Oversee and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including capacity planning, lifecycle management, and performance tuning.
* Manage and support enterprise-grade storage platforms such as PureStorage, ensuring data availability, performance, and integrity.
* Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters across hybrid environments.
* Work across both Azure cloud and on-premises infrastructure, enabling seamless integration and operational consistency.
* Develop and maintain automation and orchestration workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, Git, and related DevOps tools.
* Ensure strong network reliability through solid understanding of firewalls, switching, routing, TCP/IP, WAN, and LAN technologies.
Skills:
* Expert-level Red Hat Linux administration skills.
* Expert-level VMware vSphere administration expertise.
* Strong knowledge of enterprise storage solutions, preferably PureStorage.
* Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
* Working knowledge of hybrid environments (Azure + on-prem).
* Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
* Experience with DevOps ecosystems including Ansible, Git, CI/CD practices.
* Strong understanding of networking fundamentals-firewalls, routing, switching, TCP/IP, WAN/LAN.
* Proven experience leading or managing a technical engineering team.
* Ability to think strategically, perform risk analysis, and contribute to architectural decisions.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for all audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
* Comfortable adapting to change and managing shifting priorities.
* Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code deployments.
* Exposure to VMware Tanzu or Kubernetes platform services
