A Project Design Engineer combines elements of traditional Project Management and Design Engineering, managing projects through the outline and detailed design lifecycle while supporting multi-disciplinary teams. The role focuses on water and wastewater projects across Bournemouth, Poole and South Dorset.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a "project triangle" alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to consider technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery.
* Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate the project team – civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists – to ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget and to quality defined by frameworks and industry specifications.
* Undertake design in one’s own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Build positive relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach.
Qualifications
* Accredited degree in Engineering – Civil, Mechanical, Process or Electrical.
* Incorporated Member of an Engineering Institution.
* Experience in outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
* Knowledge of Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
