About Us STARK is bringing its expertise in software-defined unmanned systems to the maritime domain. Traditional fleets alone cannot safeguard this vast, critical space. Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) extend naval reach at lower cost and reduced risk to personnel. Our maritime family of systems is AI-enabled and built for reliable performance in the harshest seas, delivering NATO a fully integrated hardware–software capability for scalable ISR and strike operations. Your mission As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and testing electrical systems on a variety of autonomous systems. You will work on a diverse range of technical challenges, including power management and distribution, embedded electronics, and integrating sensors, radios, satellite receivers, actuators, propulsion, and other components. Responsibilities Design and integrate electrical systems including motor controllers, batteries, embedded systems, and sensors. Develop both low- and high-voltage architectures for rapid prototyping. Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, and harnesses using CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks). Select and validate components for reliability under extreme operational conditions. Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to source and assemble electrical systems for our products. Support and participate in regular field testing and demonstrations with defence partners. Qualifications Proven experience in developing electrical systems for complex platforms such as Autonomous Vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or automotive. Understanding of software and firmware practices and programming languages is a plus. Familiarity with high-voltage and high-current architectures. Experience with Wire Harness, microcontrollers and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices. Excellent problem-solving ability in high-pressure, resource-constrained environments. Strong communication skills and capacity to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams. Eligible for UK Security Clearance. Must be able to travel and stay in the Devon area a minimum of 3 days a week.
