Job overview
Fixed term, full-time Specialist Physiotherapist, Pelvic Health Band 6, based at University Hospitals Dorset between Poole and Christchurch sites, with some off-site work such as supporting mass clinics at Royal Bournemouth. The role involves supporting the pelvic health physiotherapy team to improve the current referral to treatment pathway for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.

The role involves developing skills in all aspects of Pelvic Health, including Antenatal MSK, Perinatal Pelvic Health, inpatient work at the BEACH maternity unit, Men's health, and colorectal health.

Main duties of the job
* Provide evidence-based, specialist care to perinatal, urogynecology, male, and colorectal patients
* Mentor Band 5 staff and students, support the wider Pelvic Health team, including cross-site and off-site working
* Promote and deliver high-quality, evidence-based, customer-focused services
* Work within national and local guidelines, including at off-site clinics
Candidate requirements
Qualifications:
* BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent
* HCPC registration
Experience:
* At least 2 years post-graduate NHS physiotherapy experience
* Experience with MSK outpatient physiotherapy (Band 5-6)
* Experience with electronic patient records
Skills and knowledge:
* Advanced clinical assessment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of assessment and interventions in Pelvic Health
* Understanding of current guidelines and professional development in Pelvic Health
Personal attributes:
* Motivated, reliable, and able to motivate others
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Digital competencies and proficiency in intimate examinations relevant to pelvic health
Additional requirements:
* Willingness to attend CPD opportunities and share learning
* Ability to manage resources effectively and ensure a safe environment
Desirable qualifications include courses for urinary and colorectal dysfunction, AN PN MSK, and symptoms management. The role requires flexibility to provide clinical interventions via phone, video, and face-to-face depending on clinical needs. Fluency in English is necessary. Note: Non-UK passport holders may require a work permit.
