Tasked with a wide variety of policy and regulatory-related tasks, you will tackle issues that impact on both consumers and energy industry participants. Using qualitative and quantitative data to support the drafting of evidence-based policy documents, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in writing consultations, decision letters, impact assessments and more. What you’ll bring to the role We are looking for candidates who thrive in an agile, diverse and fast-paced environment with an interest in delivering benefits for consumers, communities, or society. Analytical skills are essential, with an ability to analyse, understand and draw robust conclusions from evidence. You’ll also have good organisational skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering against deadlines. You’ll be able to communicate issues clearly and will be able to build strong working relationships across teams. Finally, you’ll have demonstrable interest in public policy, decarbonisation and/ or energy. Key responsibilities and outputs Contribute to the development and implementation of policy reform. This will involve working closely with industry and other stakeholders in Ofgem. Undertaking analysis on proposals and their impacts and effectively communicating the benefits, challenges and trade-offs to senior colleagues. Support the production of key work, such as briefings, consultations, decision letters and impact assessments. Supporting the project management of workstreams and stakeholder engagement, prioritising, scoping and delivering work and engaging with key Ofgem functions to manage risks and issues. Person specification Ability to analyse, understand and draw robust conclusions from evidence. (Lead criteria) Organisational skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering against deadlines. Demonstrable interest in public policy, decarbonisation and/or energy. Previous experience of working in the energy sector.
