Overview of the role:
The Quality Coordinator will act as the primary lead for Quality Management across the business, supporting the Compliance Manager in ensuring robust adherence to ISO 9001 and related standards. The role will drive continual improvement (CI), support automation of quality processes, and embed a strong quality culture across all business functions.
What you’ll be responsible for:
* Act as the main point of contact for quality compliance across the business, ensuring the effective operation of the Quality Management System (QMS).
* Maintain certification to ISO 9001 and support other relevant standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001 as required).
* Lead and coordinate internal audit programmes, ensuring audit findings are tracked and resolved in line with best practice.
* Prepare for, host, and support external audits, ensuring evidence and records are accurate and compliant.
* Drive continual improvement initiatives across departments, identifying opportunities for efficiency, standardisation, and digitalisation.
* Champion automation of quality systems and processes, working with IT and business functions to embed smarter workflows.
* Work with engineering, projects, operations, and commercial functions to ensure quality is integrated across the lifecycle of all deliverables.
* Produce clear reporting and analysis on quality performance, KPIs, and trends for SLT/Board review.
* Support training and awareness activities to promote a positive quality culture.
* Provide advice and guidance on compliance issues to staff at all levels.
What you’ll bring:
* Experience as a Lead Auditor (ISO 9001) qualification (IRCA-certified or equivalent).
* Experience in a Quality or Compliance role, preferably within engineering, technology, defence, or safety-related industries.
* Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, non-conformance management, and root cause analysis.
* Experience of driving CI programmes.
* Excellent communication skills, able to influence at all levels of the organisation.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environment.
Nice to have:
* Exposure to additional standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001).
* Experience working across multiple sites.
* Project management or Lean Six Sigma qualification.
* Familiarity with regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, or aerospace.
* Proven track record in maintaining and improving ISO 9001 certification.
* Embedding automation/digital quality tools.
