Overview
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist. The Childrens Occupational Therapy Team are based in a purpose‑built centre, co‑located with many other health and local authority children services in the London Borough of Redbridge. Therapists have access to clinical space as well as close working relations with the multi‑disciplinary teams.
We are looking for an innovative therapist to support the needs of our children, young people and their families by leading on the specific pathway to identify accurate and robust information for EHCP provision.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for a caseload of children and young people with varying degrees of needs and disabilities, affecting functional performance, participation and independence.
* Oversee planning and co‑ordination of service delivery.
* Demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge, highly specialist assessment and advanced therapeutic skills.
* Equip children and young people to develop independence and self‑management and support their participation in all aspects of life.
* Contribute to further developing an effective and responsive integrated service for children and young people and their families/carers in Redbridge.
* Develop personal learning, support service development and provide training and development of junior colleagues, peers and students.
* Support junior staff and students in developing skills, managing caseloads and liaise with managers and other NELFT therapists to enhance the service.
* Lead the planning and coordination of service delivery for a caseload of children and young people with a wide range of difficulties, conditions, or disabilities.
Qualifications
* Band 6 or 7 occupational therapist experience.
* Experience working in children's community services.
* Highly specialist assessment and advanced therapeutic skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver comprehensive face‑to‑face clinic assessments.
* Good organisational and time‑management skills.
* Willingness to undertake regular supervision and participate in internal and external training opportunities.
