We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Health Care Assistants to join our team within the Mental Health Service for Older people (MHSOP). The role of the Health Care Assistant will be to work as part of the nursing team and support people through their recovery with both their physical and mental health needs.
Based at the Leicester General Hospital site, the Evington Centre has two mental health wards: Gwendolen Ward (Male Patients) and Coleman Ward (Female Patients). This vacancy is for Coleman Ward.
Both wards are a 19‑bed unit caring for patients mainly over the age of 65 who live with dementia. The ward also provides care for patients with enduring mental health illnesses such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or Parkinson’s disease.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a healthcare setting, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing great care to patients.

Please note that the Healthcare Assistants work a rota system of long days (12‑hour shifts) day and night covering a 7‑day working week.
We can offer part‑time and full‑time posts, however the minimum you will be required to work is 23 hours per week.
These are also permanent roles, not bank roles, and candidates will require their own right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
