Quantity Surveyor
Contract: Cheshire East Highways

We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, working closely with our Construction colleagues to help deliver a diverse and high-profile annual capital works programme. This programme spans carriageway resurfacing, surface dressing, footway improvements, and a range of associated highway infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will take ownership of the full commercial lifecycle of bridges and structures schemes, with individual project values of up to £5m. Operating under the NEC3 Term Service Contract (Options A, C, and E), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of commercial compliance.
The Role
•Provide full commercial and contractual management of assigned schemes from feasibility through to final account.
•Prepare, manage, and maintain cost plans, target costs, forecasts, and cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
•Administer change in NEC3 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events and quotation assessments.
•Support the management of risk and opportunity within the project portfolio, contributing to cost certainty and value for money.
•Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and clients.
About You
•Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial management role, ideally within highways, infrastructure, or public sector works.
•Good working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
•Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and change effectively.
•Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
