What you'll be doing:
1. Performing independent inspection, surveillance, and concurrence of nuclear work on facilities, plant, equipment, and nuclear support services, on-board and on-site to evaluate nuclear and radiological safety and security performance at Barrow.
2. Inspecting and assessing the business's capability to progress submarine builds and projects in the Site Redevelopment Programme through the Hold Point Control process.
3. Inspecting the business against relevant legislation to assess compliance levels.
4. Communicating inspection findings and conclusions to stakeholders at all levels, including regulators, senior managers, and peers.
5. Assessing emergency arrangements exercises and providing feedback.
6. Overseeing safety/security committees to ensure due process and safety integrity.
7. Maintaining oversight of Peer Review activities related to safety documentation.
8. Developing and deploying an effective Operational Experience feedback system for the Barrow site.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Knowledge of nuclear site license conditions and experience working on nuclear licensed sites or in regulated industries.
* Experience managing programs within the nuclear or similar highly regulated industries.
* Ability to engage and influence senior management and regulators.
Desirable:
* Marine Engineering Submariner background.
* Experience as Nuclear Plant Operator or in Nuclear Submarine Build & Commissioning.
* Degree or equivalent in STEM subjects.
* Experience in Audit & Regulation.

The Independent Nuclear Assurance Team:
Works as part of a team reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, acting as an internal regulator, delivering inspection programs, and influencing safety and security performance across the business.
