We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, driven leader to join us as a Registered Manager for Extra Care Housing and Intermediate Care. Extra Care Housing and Intermediate Care in Westmorland and Furness provide support to individuals living in the community. The services operate across Westmorland and Furness. The Manager will lead and support a team of Supervisors, Social Care Workers and Support Workers. They will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, training, and support across a 24-hour period. The work involves close working with a range of other professionals to include health, social workers, finance officers, DWP, community groups and more. Extra Care Housing services provide support across a 24-hour period to support people to live independently in their own homes in a purpose-built housing scheme. Intermediate Care is short-term support aimed at maximising people’s independence. It can reduce pressure on acute services by providing a pathway to timely discharge from hospital or by preventing admission altogether. The manager will have overall responsibility and accountability for the service area, this includes management of health and safety, personnel, finance, accommodation and facilities. Who we are looking for… We are looking for a motivational, supportive leader who has extensive experience of promoting service development and managing change in a political environment. This role will suit a highly motivated and versatile team player, who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to engage with a wide range of audiences, with clear commitment to excellent customer service is desirable. There will be a need to respond to staff and situations urgently that will not always be accessible via public transport. There will be a requirement to meet communities and carers which may be outside office hours and within their own venues. Therefore, there is a requirement to travel independently via a motorised vehicle due to the geographical dispersal of the staff, customers and community groups throughout the county. You will also require Level 5 in Leadership and Management or the Registered Managers Award. If this sounds like you, and you’re ready for the challenge, then we would love to hear from you! What can we offer you!
