Overview
The Senior Administrator in Mood Disorders will support the new CPFT Mood Disorders Research Clinic led by Dr Hatfield and Dr Osimo. This full‑time, fixed‑term Band 4 role supports the clinic’s establishment and daily operations across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The clinic provides both clinical and research services for treatment‑resistant depression, operating from Cambridge and Peterborough sites.
Responsibilities
* Supervise a team of administrative staff, undertaking appraisals, supervision, training and development of band 3 and band 2 staff.
* Provide information and support to managers on staff performance and conduct.
* Allocate and supervise administration tasks delegated to other members of the administration team.
* Maintain annual leave records for the team, liaising with Line Manager and other managers to ensure appropriate cover.
* Support managers with the recruitment process and ensure newly appointed staff undergo local and Trust inductions.
* Organise and control own and others workload, ensuring deadlines are observed and duties performed efficiently.
* Lead on the introduction and proactive management of new processes and initiatives with the Line Manager.
* Deputise for the Line Manager when directed and required.
* Word process documents for medical staff, managers and multidisciplinary team using direct dictation, audio or written text. Correspondence may be highly confidential.
* Deal with telephone enquiries and other communications with a high degree of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience
Band 4 administrative and supervisory experience in a clinical or research setting, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to travel independently around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
