Description
Priory Hospital Barnt Green is looking to recruit a Medical Secretary to join the team. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours a week. We offer mental health support for both adults and young people, including access to specialist therapy and psychiatry. We also provide private autism assessment services for adults, helping people better understand themselves and access the right support. Our brand new hospital conversion allows for access to high quality, modern facilities within a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, close to relaxing woodland, to help facilitate recovery and hope. In addition to acres of rolling countryside on all sides of the hospital, each ward has access to south‑facing garden areas, meaning you can relax and spend time outdoors.

What you'll be doing
* Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the hospital and particularly the medical team. This will regularly include typing, minute taking, receiving telephone enquiries, diary and appointment management, managing correspondence, meeting and greeting visitors and other administrative tasks as appropriate. You will also be required to liaise with other Priory Healthcare sites and departments, insurers, GPs and commissioners regarding specific patient details and invoicing.
* To provide cross cover within specified Medical Secretaries teams, as assigned by your line manager.
* Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
* You will be required to accurately record Independent Consultant time to ensure appropriate invoicing controls are in place for the hospital. Independent Consultant Time is designated as time you spend completing tasks assigned to you by a Consultant.
What you'll bring to the role

I have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and am able to audio‑type efficiently. I possess an understanding of medical terminology and am passionate about delivering a high‑quality service to the hospital, striving to make a real and lasting difference for everyone we support. With strong organisational skills, I am able to prioritise my own workload effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. I work well as part of a team, contributing to shared goals to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently. I understand the importance of confidentiality and integrity in a healthcare setting and consistently uphold these standards. My experience includes working within administrative, customer service, clinical, or similar environments, where I have followed established procedures and processes while remaining adaptable when necessary, particularly when supporting patients and their families.
