APC is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join the team. The role is based at Cardinal Square, Derby, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. It is a full-time, office-based position with core working hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, including a one-hour break.
Duties
Group Reporting
* Manage accounting requirements for dormant or low-activity subsidiaries.
* Handle calculations and posting of intercompany transactions, including billing.
* Maintain FX Register and intercompany reconciliations.
* Prepare the monthly consolidated Contribution Report and Financial Statements.
* Allocate charges from the US parent company across APC subsidiaries.
* Prepare monthly reporting packages for the US parent company.
* Compile reports required by the US parent company and tax consultants.
* Liaise with external auditors.
* Ensure compliance across the group.
* Address US parent accounting and tax queries related to APC.
General Finance
* Prepare and post month-end journals.
* Manage accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end activities.
* Review weekly and monthly payroll journals.
* Support base cost review each month.
* Prepare monthly Management Accounts for all entities within the APC Group.
* Manage allocated Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Support internal and external audits.
* Conduct business analysis and provide operational intelligence.
* Perform other activities as needed within the finance department.
Qualifications
Essential
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
* Strong experience in similar roles.
Desirable
* Over 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
* Experience in Power Generation Industry, Construction, and Engineering.
* Knowledge of SOX compliance.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* High proficiency in MS Excel.
* Experience with ERP systems.
* Financial awareness with strong business partnering skills.
* Excellent team working and communication skills, with the ability to make finance relevant to non-finance colleagues.
* Solution-oriented approach.
* Highly numerate and computer literate.
Desirable
* Experience working in Energy, Infrastructure, Construction, or Engineering projects.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.
