Job Purpose:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Trainee Assistant Management Accountant. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to start your career in accounting while studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA. You’ll gain practical experience across core finance functions and receive full study support to help you qualify and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
* Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering data and preparing initial drafts.
* Reconcile key balance sheet accounts monthly.
* Support with cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with other tax compliance tasks.
* Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and controls.
* Work closely with other departments to ensure financial understanding and support decision-making.
* Participate in ad hoc projects and reporting as required.
Candidate Profile:
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
* Actively studying or committed to studying ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively, work to deadlines, and prioritise tasks.
* Some prior finance or accounting experience (e.g., in a finance assistant or internship role).
* Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP, or similar).
