Hours:
4 on 4 off – 12-hour shifts (rotating days and nights on an 8-week cycle)
Are you a skilled maintenance engineer looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your expertise will make a real difference? We’re currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a busy production site supplying high-quality baked goods across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and plant equipment.
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
* Maintain and support equipment such as conveyors, sealers, mixers, and wrap machines.
* Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
* Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth handovers and effective communication across shifts.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented in line with internal policies.
* Assist in continuous improvement projects, helping identify and implement operational enhancements.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
About You:
* Electrically biased with a minimum of 16th Edition Wiring Regulations (17th or 18th Edition advantageous).
* Basic understanding of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
* Apprentice trained.
* Hands-on experience maintaining conveyors, sealers, mixers, and wrap machines is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; food production experience preferred but not essential.
* Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* A team player with good communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
* Capable of planning and prioritising your own workload and supporting colleagues when needed.
* High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
