Overview
HGV Mechanic / Plant Technician - Specialist Ground Support Equipment, East Midlands Airport. Salary £39,000 - £43,000 per annum + overtime + call-out rota. Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00 (with call-out rota).
What youll be doing
* Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HGVs, plant, and specialist GSE.
* Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections to keep the fleet safe and operational.
* Performing brake and smoke tests, identifying defects, and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor.
* Maintaining accurate service records and job cards.
* Supporting the wider engineering team with ad-hoc repairs and urgent breakdowns.
* Ensuring safety compliance at all times and reporting defective tools/equipment.
What we\re looking for
* Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
* At least 3 years\ hands-on experience with HGVs, Plant, or GSE.
* GSE experience advantageous but not essential — full training provided.
* Heavy Goods Licence desirable.
