The NDA File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff. The role includes managing a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud files for various insurance clients, working closely with claims handlers and Lead Lawyers to achieve optimal results. The candidate should possess analytical skills, a forensic approach to evidence, and commercial awareness. Decision-making within set timeframes and aligning with case strategies are crucial.
The role also involves strategic foresight to ensure litigation opportunities are maximized, shaping the future of counter-fraud efforts.
The caseload includes various types of suspected fraud, such as:
* Bogus Passenger
* Staged/Contrived
* Fraudulent Exaggeration
* Induced accidents
* Low Speed Impact
* Late Notification Claims
* Credit Hire Fraud
* MIB
* Linked & Organised Crime
Key Responsibilities
The NDA File Handler will oversee fraud cases from litigation to resolution, including:
* Case Management: Review evidence, set and agree on case strategies, adhere to process stages, identify litigation opportunities, and monitor client trends.
* Client Excellence: Handle files according to client guidelines, ensure satisfaction, and complete MI and KPIs.
* Technical Excellence: Report to insurers, liaise with involved parties, meet deadlines, conduct investigations, and achieve favorable litigation outcomes. Also, undertake advocacy when appropriate, delegate tasks, maintain case systems, and comply with SRA standards.
* Financial Excellence: Work efficiently to meet financial targets, ensure accurate billing, and maintain profitability.
* Cultural Excellence: Uphold company values.
Working Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with 1 unpaid lunch hour. The primary location is Bolton, Parklands Office, with a flexible attendance policy requiring at least 1 day in the office per week.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a qualified legal professional (ILEX, LPC, etc.)
* Experience with linked and organised fraud is desirable but not essential
* Experience handling RTA pre-litigated and litigated cases
* Understanding of insurance litigation, indemnity principles, and CPR
* Good advocacy, client care, analytical, communication, prioritization, and IT skills
