Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Temporary)
Location: Caterham
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary
Key Responsibilities
* Process weekly and monthly payroll in line with company deadlines
* Input and verify employee data including new starters, leavers, and pay changes
* Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and holiday pay
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
* Assist with PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions
* Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts
* Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
* Support payroll audits and year-end processes (P45s, P60s, etc.)
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a payroll processing role (essential)
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
* High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality
