As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring our swimming pools are clean,safe, and welcoming for all users. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene while delivering excellent customer care in line with the Council's values and policies.

Entry Requirements
This is anunqualified role, open to anyone to apply. However, aNational Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)is essential to start in post.
Wakefield Council willfund your NPLQ course, but attendance will be expected asvoluntary hours.
As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete aswim testprior to your interview.
The test includes:
Swim Test Requirements
* Jump/dive into deep water
* Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
* Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
* Tread water for 30 seconds
* Surface dive to the floor of the pool
* Climb out unaided without using a ladder or steps (where pool design permits)
This assessment will take placeon the day of the interview, prior to the NPLQ course.
To Qualify for the NPLQ Course, You Must:
* Be18 years or olderat the time of the final NPLQ assessment
* Attendall daysof the course, taking place fromMonday 27th October to 31st October

* Tuesday: 09:00 - 19:00
* Wednesday: 09:00 - 18:30
* Thursday: 09:00 -18:30
* Friday: 09:00 - 16:00
