Procurement Intern
Duration: 6 weeks
Working hours: 38.75 hours
Location: Capenhurst
To support the P2P team and maintain processes that enable the delivery of procurement projects with a focus on continuous
improvement, speed, quality assurance, and automation
Key responsibilities include:
Accurate initiation of the Procure to Pay process for a given category of spend ensuring compliance to group policies
First line support to operations on supplier performance management, working in conjunction with senior buyers and category mangers to drive improvements
Influencing internal business partners to ensure contracted suppliers are used wherever possible
Active contribution to the ongoing development functional capabilities to ensure value delivery is sustainable in the long term and functional effectiveness and efficiencies are improved on a continual basis
Develop working knowledge of quality assurance requirements and support training development and delivery
Support key functional policy, procedure, and instructions updates
Support selected Procurement projects and help to deliver these to timetable
Vocational Qualifications:
Working towards a business degree or equivalent qualification.
A focus on economics, organisational leadership or supply chain are preferred.
Experience required:
Highly capable on excel
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with internal stakeholders
Good report drafting and analytical skills.
Other attributes required:
Ability to work under pressure against hard deadlines, whilst maintaining very good attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong work management skills including the ability to manage several complex workstreams simultaneously.
Excellent ability to communicate directly and confidently with senior management and external stakeholders.
Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
Strong team player who can also work independently and take ownership of own workstreams.
