Corporate and Business Development, Senior Manager

Greater Boston, MA

Pledge Therapeutics is a pioneering drug discovery company dedicated to tackling some of the most complex challenges in immunology, oncology, and virology. We focus on therapeutic targets that have historically been challenging, leveraging our advanced structure and biophysics-driven discovery platform, augmented by in-house trained generative AI methodologies, to develop first-in-class drugs that redefine standards of care. Supported by a diverse and mission-aligned group of investors who share our vision for breakthrough therapies, we are committed to developing new medicines and solving the toughest problems in drug discovery. Where others see obstacles, we see opportunities.

About the Role:

Your responsibilities will span three core areas. In corporate development, you will focus on structuring and enabling growth initiatives, as well as scaling strategies, while exploring new market opportunities. In business development, you will drive external relationships, partnerships, and licensing efforts. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting leadership in strategy execution, transforming high-level ideas into actionable plans and communicating the company’s scientific and business value to external stakeholders.

As a key member of our growing team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping both the company’s strategy and execution towards the development of life-saving therapies. This role offers high visibility and a unique opportunity to collaborate with thought leaders, top scientists, seasoned entrepreneurs, and the CEO, contributing directly to the growth of our organization and innovative drug pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

* Transform complex scientific data into compelling narratives that align with corporate strategy and resonate with investors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
* Develop visually impactful presentations (e.g., investor decks and partnership proposals) that clearly communicate the company’s scientific and business opportunities.
* Collaborate with R&D, finance, and executive teams to ensure data is presented in a way that maximizes value for investor relations, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.
* Support the CEO and senior leadership as a strategic thought partner, translating high-level ideas into actionable business development initiatives.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the biotechnology and pharma industries, including investors and potential partners
* Contribute to and help execute business development strategies that support the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
* Track and analyze emerging biotech, drug discovery, and venture capital trends to ensure the company remains competitive in its strategic approach.
* Represent the company as a brand ambassador, enhancing visibility and ensuring consistent messaging across social media, web platforms, and public engagements.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or venture-backed startups, with a proven track record of driving growth in fast-paced environments.
* Strong scientific literacy, evidenced by scientific training and a publication record: You have a demonstrated ability to translate complex biological or drug discovery concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with scientific and business audiences.
* Exceptional data storytelling and presentation skills: Proven competence in extracting insights from scientific data and communicating them impactfully.
* Strategic and analytical mindset: You combine sharp analytical thinking with keen intuition, allowing you to assess situations quickly and respond effectively. Pragmatic and adaptable, you adjust your approach based on context and are always prepared to pivot when necessary.
* Proven experience in business development and partnerships: Capable of originating, managing, and supporting licensing deals, collaborations, and strategic alliances.
* High level of adaptability and ownership: You thrive in dynamic, fast-evolving, high-growth environments where ambiguity and shifting priorities are the norm. You take initiative, deliver results under tight timelines, and drive solutions even in uncertain situations.
* Collaborative leadership and ownership mentality: You lead by aligning teams to overachieve goals and drive results with an ownership mindset. You can manage diverse personalities and get things done while fostering a low-ego, collaborative culture.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills: You are comfortable engaging with external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and the Board. You tailor communication based on the audience and context to convey the company’s scientific and business value effectively.
* An advanced degree (MBA or PhD) in life sciences or a related field; alternatively, a master’s degree with +6 years of relevant experience and a demonstrated track record.
* Impact-driven and passionate about drug development: You are motivated by the opportunity to innovate and develop transformative therapies that improve patients’ lives.
* Ideal for a rising star: This role is for a high achiever with demonstrated success, ready to take the next step in their career and make a significant impact.

What We Offer:

* Be part of a team driving a discovery platform that is unlocking previously untapped therapeutic targets.
* A high-growth startup environment with the ability to shape the future of the company and your own career—your ceiling is what you set for yourself.
* A tight-knit, mission-driven team that embraces creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
* Opportunities for visibility, mentorship, and growth, with direct access to senior leaders, seasoned entrepreneurs, and thought leaders.
