Job Summary
I am seeking a compassionate and dedicated P.A./Carer to provide exceptional support and care to our daughter in our family home. Our daughter is 36 yrs old with Downs Syndrome and aslo has some medical problems too. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of learning difficulties, with a focus on promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, administering medication, and behaviour support, ensuring a high standard of care. The job also entails taking her to her disco, dance classess, shopping, outings besides working with her inside the home, doing acitivities with her etc. A valid driving licence is required to facilitate client transportation when necessary.
I am looking for someone who can work 12 hours on a Monday from 9.00a.m. til 9.00p.m for the time being but who is able to cover holidays and sickness for the other members of staff. There may be more hours available weekly in the near future on a regular basis.
Duties
* Provide personalised care to clients, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
* Administer medication safely and accurately.
* Support with meal preparation and nutritional needs
* Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
* Monitor and document health status and behaviour changes
* Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual need
* Support clients with activities of daily living.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
* Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients' quality of life
Experience
* Previous experience working with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
* Certification in first aid is advantageous
* Proven caregiving skills with vulnerable adult populations.
* Valid driving licence for client transportation purposes
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
