This is an opportunity for an experienced consultant to join one of Hays most vital and high-profile specialisms. Any consultant position in this specialism is prestigious and core to the success of the wider business.
Our Business Support team at our London Central office in Cheapside is a public sector-facing recruitment team that has enjoyed significant success.
They are a major contributor to the fees of the London Central Region, with plenty of scope for further development of temporary fee lines. We are seeking a passionate and ambitious individual to join this team and help drive it forward in both fees and morale.
Working with a team that includes Senior Business Managers, this is an exciting time for someone to come in and make a real impact from day one.
Your new role
As a consultant, your primary focus will be to develop and nurture relationships within both large and small central government organisations. You will actively seek out and meet with HR professionals, CEO’S, Directors, line managers, and other key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include sourcing the best and most experienced candidates for interim roles within this busy sector.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with central government organisations and key decision makers.
* Actively seek and engage with HR professionals, directors, and line managers.
* Source, screen and recruit top-tier candidates for interim roles.
* Demonstrate inquisitiveness and commercial insight to secure leads and negotiate deals.
* Draft reports, ensure compliance, and participate in internal projects.
* Contribute to the development and growth of the business, especially your Business Support team.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have experience as a Senior Recruitment Consultant or above as well as a proven track record in business development and recruitment. You will be a highly driven, ambitious and inspiring individual who can drive success in those around you and navigate the highs and lows of recruitment with resilience.
You will be passionate about achieving team and individual goals; supportive in the development of others; and enjoy working as part of a growing team.
Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with your colleagues, directors, candidates and clients alike as this will be vital to your own success and the success of the business.

Youll be supported by and report to a Senior Business Manager with 8 years of experience, who has previously worked on this desk. This means youll have a reliable mentor to guide you as you get acquainted with the role.
Youll also benefit from a strong management network across the Region and have the chance to enhance your leadership skills through training programs. As a fee earner, theres a significant opportunity to build relationships with existing clients, expand the market, and explore new areas of growth. This role will enable you to advance your career in a positive and proactive manner.
