Scope of the Role
As a Contract Design Engineer, youll focus on packaging complex assemblies into functional, manufacturable solutions that prove feasibility.
Repackage existing CAD into new assemblies and layouts
Develop mechanisms for actuation, locking and multi-mode interaction
Build prototypes and rigs to demonstrate ergonomics and usability
Work with engineers to hand over concepts into downstream development
Key Skills and Experience Required
To succeed as a Contract Design Engineer, youll need proven experience in consumer product mechanical design.
Mechanical design for consumer products such as handhelds or appliances
Strong background in mechanism design and packaging assemblies
CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred, Creo acceptable)
Experience with injection moulding, plastics, DFM principles
Hands-on prototyping and iterative rig development
