Overview
Based at Head Office, Leicester. Working Pattern: typically 5 days in the office with some flexibility once embedded into the role, with core hours between 8am-6pm.
About the Role
Let’s talk quality. In UK retail, we focus on quality and service as a core differentiator. We sell thousands of items an hour and our repeat customer base returns for our renowned quality products. For anyone in the product technology field, this is a place to learn, grow and thrive.
Our Garment Technology teams work to ensure the quality of the Next product is always of the highest standard. Working alongside Designers, Buyers, Merchandisers and Fabric Technologists, this role is key to the whole product critical path from start to finish.
Your Role
Working closely with the Product team you’ll assist the Childrenswear Technology team in delivering essential technical support to ensure all Next products meet legal and accepted industry standards. You’ll help develop the Next Childrenswear ranges from providing technical input into design packs to communicating requirements to suppliers and factories. As a guardian for quality and value, you’ll work with the Technologist to drive forward our technology strategy, including assessing and approving garment fit and grading to our customers quality expectations. You’ll play a central role throughout the product journey – from developing new ranges to managing the supplier base, preparing for launch, while analysing and responding to in-season feedback and performance.
About You
A team player with strong people skills to communicate effectively within a multi-functional team. You will apply your technical experience and eye for technical detail to a range of kids products. Utilizing your qualifications and experience within garment technology, you’ll demonstrate an excellent understanding of manufacturing, construction, grading and fit. You’ll show drive and initiative to generate and implement new ideas in your department.
Childrenswear experience would be a definite advantage for this role.
Your Team
The Childrenswear technology team at NEXT has a wealth of knowledge and experience across territories. This is an ideal opportunity to show us what you can do and to learn from those around you.
