Job Description Branch Assistant Northampton Full-time, Permanent Salary up to £26,000 DOE A well-established wholesale business is seeking a Branch Assistant to join its friendly and hardworking team based in Northampton. They are looking for a proactive individual to provide a professional, customer-focused service, working both independently and as part of a team. The role is varied and fast-paced, requiring the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Duties include trade counter service, order processing, stock control, warehouse operations, and occasional delivery driving. Key responsibilities include: Developing strong knowledge of the product range to confidently advise customers Processing, picking, packing, and preparing orders for customer collection or delivery Maintaining accurate stock levels and participating in regular stock takes Serving customers at the trade counter in line with company standards Handling customer enquiries, orders, and complaints efficiently and professionally Raising quotations and following up to secure orders Sourcing non-stock items internally or through purchasing channels Managing returns, warranty claims, and faulty items in line with procedures Maintaining branch administration records, including health and safety documentation Ensuring the branch, trade counter, and warehouse areas are clean, safe, and well organised Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times, including use of provided PPE Handling manual tasks safely, including some heavy lifting Assisting with deliveries when required, including vehicle checks, documentation, and safe driving practices The Ideal Candidate: Good standard of education, including maths and English Professional telephone manner and strong communication skills Experience in a similar role or environment preferred Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure Full UK driving licence is essential Forklift licence desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
