About the role
We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our rapidly expanding SaaS, not-for-profit organisation. In this vital role, it is essential to consistently deliver on our commitments and uphold the standards that define our reputation. The successful candidate will be someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people, excels at building and maintaining relationships, and is dedicated to fostering growth within the team. Additionally, you will play a key part in supporting and influencing the development of a sustainable organisational strategy.
You will have a good understanding of reality, resources, timing for a smooth day to day agile operation. Getting involved, being hands-on, organised and analytical; ensuring tasks are completed on time, honouring commitments and deadlines, while ensuring that the right activity delivers tangible results. This is a key mid-senior role, designed to enhance internal operations, streamline processes, and act as the operational bridge between our Commercial and Design & Delivery teams.

The role
This mid-senior role is critical to the team, providing a central communication hub between our Commercial and Design & Delivery teams, implementing and maintaining systems and processes, setting robust foundations, leveraging value, getting results through people, whilst meeting our legal and compliance obligations. Creating routine, urgency and structure is what we need, being practical and caring will come naturally.
Ideally you will have operational management experience bringing confidence and commercial awareness, from an IT, digital or consultancy, whereby you’ve been fundamental to a rapidly growing team.

We are looking for a tenacious, self-starter who is highly motivated to achieve outcomes with a passion for delivering outstanding operational effectiveness.
The postholder will play a crucial role in supporting and influencing strategy, while owning and improving day-to-day operations. With a strong focus on operational effectiveness, administrative oversight, and people coordination, this role is hands-on and wide-ranging—ideal for someone who thrives in an agile, mission-led environment.
This role is suited to someone with experience in an operational or business support role—ideally within a tech, digital, or consultancy setting, and preferably in small or scaling organisations. You’ll need to be comfortable wearing multiple hats, balancing strategic thinking with practical, hands-on delivery.
Successful candidates must be social, analytical, possess an aptitude for learning and using new software, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with internal colleagues and external clients. Experience in Local Government and/or Health and Social Care would be desirable but is not critical.
Required Skills and Experience
* Technically proficient with MS Office products.
* Good diary management and time keeping.
* Strong interpersonal ability with an excellent work ethic comfortable working in a fast- paced, remote working environment with some onsite work with customers.
* Thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and brings clarity to complexity
* Has strong operational instincts and a track record of driving internal improvements
* Confident working across different teams and seniority levels - commercial, delivery, and leadership.
* Natural self-starter, comfortable prioritising and taking initiative
* Brings energy, rigour, and structure - someone who’s not afraid to whip things into shape
* Has knowledge of HR processes and legislation, and is comfortable supporting day-to-day people management tasks
* Is confident working within compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001:2022) and maintaining operational processes in line with standards
* Is tech-savvy and confident using or configuring tools like O365, SharePoint, or internal platforms (experience with CharlieHR is a bonus)
* Exceptional communication skills (via phone, email, Teams and face-to-face) and the ability to empathise with clients and team members.
* Quick learner with enthusiastic approach and the ability to adapt and pick up new technologies and methodologies.
Responsibilities
Internal and External Coordination:
o Act as a liaison between the Commercial and Design & Delivery teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
o Support and influence strategic decision-making processes by providing operational insights and recommendations.
Administrative Oversight:
o Maintain administrative oversight of company operations, ensuring all processes are efficient and effective.
o Oversee day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling, resource allocation, and office management.
Strategic insight and support:
o Support and influence strategic decision-making processes by providing operational insights and recommendations.
o Create and develop reports and management information.
Operational Effectiveness:
o Focus on operational effectiveness and consistency across all departments.
o Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency.
HR and People Management:
o Facilitate day-to-day HR tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
o Support learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Hands-On Involvement:
o Take a hands-on approach to administrative tasks and be actively involved in project delivery and cover when necessary.
o Ensure all company operations are running smoothly and address any issues promptly.
Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure company compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including insurances, cyber essentials, and ISO27001.
o Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
