Length of employment: Job Summary: UK Strategic Command (UKStratCom) comprises Headquarters, Defence Digital, Defence Intelligence, Defence Support, Directorate of Overseas Bases, Directorate Special Forces, Defence Medical Services, National Cyber Force and Permanent Joint Headquarters and with permanent bases both in the UK and overseas. The UKStratCom Infrastructure Team are the focal point between High Level Budget (HLB) holders and end-users on one hand, and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Financial Military Capability (FMC) on the other; the aim of this being to prioritise Strategic Command's infrastructure requirements and work towards their timely delivery. The successful applicant will assume a UK based role, working at pace as part of a highly capable team enabling delivery of infrastructure supporting Defence capabilities in remote locations overseas. Requirements/Delivery Managers are a pivotal part of the UKStratCom Infrastructure Team and take the lead on capital project and programme activity for a geographically disparate and multifaceted portfolio. This post brings with it unique opportunities to deliver high profile, complex projects on operational overseas estates that include airports, maritime ports, utility generation and technical or living accommodation. Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time, the wider organisation, will be subject to review and potential changes as improve throughout the period of the transformation programme. These changes may be minor but could be more substantive and may generate new opportunities. Throughout, the Command's transformation programme is committed to following the MOD's framework on managing and supporting people through the change process and places an emphasis on early and open consultation and engagement with the Command's personnel and Trade Unions. Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for activities required to deliver the Overseas Capital Works Programme from definition through to handover and closeout for each of their allocated projects. The remit of the UKStratCom Infrastructure Team has the potential extend to all Defence overseas locations but initially and primarily, this role will be focused on activity in British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI), namely the Falkland Islands and Ascension Island. Person specific: The post holder will be able to build a solid network of professional relationships, working collaboratively with internal delivery agents, industry partners and cross-functional project teams. You'll be able to learn quickly, work independently, proactively tackle problems and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. On appointment the successful applicant will be expected to attain UK Security - Developed Vetting. Travelling for this post will be essential with regular overnight stays in UK and extended stays with associated international long-haul travel to BFSAI. A driving licence is essential. The Requirements/Delivery Manager objectives include but are not limited to: Manage projects using DIO Capital Projects Process/ Forward Approval Plan (FAP) and Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP) Coordinating/developing Business Cases and other supporting lifecycle documents or artefacts (including Review/Information Notes) Programme and project governance(approvals and financial processes) Stakeholder management User Requirements Document (URD) production Undertake Technical Service Provider/Main Contractor Tender Evaluation and Moderation, closely reviewing DIO's client specs/associated documents Support to Regional Delivery team in BFSAI Mandatory training, personal and professional development This recruitment process will consist of two parts: A written application containing your experience (a CV and a Statement of Suitability (Personal Statement)), 2 Behaviours drawn from the Civil Service Success Profiles and 1 Functional Competence. If your written application is successful, you will be invited to a face-to-face interview where you will be tested against 3 Behaviours drawn from the Civil Service Success Profiles (the 2 from your application, plus 1 more at interview) and 2 Functional Competences.
