Building Services Engineer
Department: Corporate Services and Facilities
Salary: £43,151- £46,387 plus Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2,500 per annum.
This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, with flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns, minimum coverage of 30 hours Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota, typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an allowance.
About the Role: You will work on an estate with advanced technical facilities, supporting security and maintaining a diverse campus with manufacturing workshops, laboratories, clean rooms, server rooms, and offices. The campus includes buildings of varying ages and infrastructures. Your role involves managing projects, ensuring statutory compliance, and maintaining building systems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Project managing system replacements and reactive repairs.
* Diagnosing and fixing building system issues using analytical skills.
* Collaborating within a team, supporting professional development, and undertaking technical training.
About You: You should have:
* A professional qualification or experience in building services.
* Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
* Understanding of building regulations, safety standards, and sustainable technologies.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Desirable skills include experience with ISO standards, AutoCAD, and strong communication skills.
Personal Skills: You enjoy managing multiple projects, establishing relationships, promoting responsive services, demonstrating analytical skills, and working collaboratively in a team.
Using Your Skills: You will ensure site safety and compliance, lead projects, respond to system failures, and optimize building management systems.
