Mechanical Engineering Manager – Newark – Up to £70,000
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to take the lead in a highly influential site-based role? We are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join a large-scale industrial manufacturing operation in Newark. This is an exciting opportunity to act as the site’s mechanical expert, driving improvements in plant reliability, safety, and production performance while playing a key role in engineering leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working within a complex manufacturing environment, you will ensure the integrity and reliability of mechanical plant equipment, lead reliability-centred maintenance strategies, and help shape engineering best practice across the site. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on operational performance while mentoring and developing engineering teams.
Mechanical Engineering Manager’s Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the site subject matter expert for mechanical maintenance and engineering activities
• Ensure the technical integrity and fitness for purpose of all mechanical plant and equipment
• Lead reliability centred maintenance and defect elimination initiatives to maximise plant uptime
• Develop technical specifications and standards for mechanical maintenance activities
• Coach and mentor engineering teams while supporting site engineering leadership
Skills & Experience Required as a Mechanical Engineering Manager:
• Chartered Mechanical Engineer or significant equivalent industry experience
• Membership of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (or similar professional body)
• NEBOSH Safety Certificate or strong health & safety knowledge
• Proven experience within manufacturing or industrial plant environments
• Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
