Quality Inspector
A well-established and respected precision engineering company is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key position working alongside the Quality Manager, focused on maintaining and improving quality standards across the business.
The company specialises in the manufacture of low-volume, high-precision components for industries including aerospace, oil & gas, and defence. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, height gauges and other precision tools.
* Ensure components meet tight tolerances and comply with customer specifications.
* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications, understanding all relevant symbols and tolerances.
* Carry out first-off, in-process, final, and goods-in inspections.
* Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure full product and process traceability.
* Quarantine and report non-conforming products and contribute to root cause investigations.
* Raise and manage concession requests and non-conformance reports.
* Support the completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
* Prepare and review Certificates of Conformity.
* Liaise directly with customers regarding quality issues as needed.
* Work closely with the Quality Manager to support continuous improvement and drive a quality-focused culture across the business.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a precision engineering or machining environment is essential.
* Strong working knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection methods.
* Confident using a wide range of measuring equipment and tools.
* Ability to measure in both metric and imperial units.
* Experience with CMM equipment and producing inspection reports is desirable.
* Understanding of quality systems such as AS9100 or equivalent is preferred.
* Strong communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
* Competence with Microsoft Office and standard quality documentation software.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
This Quality Inspector position offers a structured environment with clear expectations and a well-defined scope of work.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
* Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm

Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
