This is an exciting opportunity to join a team recognized for operational expertise across a wide geographical area, providing critical services to Waste Pumping Assets.
This role will support the development of Field Technicians and maintain awareness of the maintenance needs of Sewage Pumping Stations. You will manage teams with diverse operational, mechanical, and electrical expertise.
Field Operations Managers are people experts who drive team performance, ensuring health, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
* Base location: South London Area - Darenth (DA2 7SR)
* Working pattern: 36 hours/week (Mon-Fri) plus standby rota
* Must have a full, valid UK driving license for site visits and fieldwork
What you will be doing as a Field Operations Manager
* Lead operational and maintenance delivery through effective resource management to meet performance, expenditure, quality, and statutory standards
* Manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering planned and reactive maintenance for approximately 300 pumping stations across South London
* Lead, coach, and develop team members to meet business needs
* Promote continuous improvement, best practices, and local knowledge sharing
* Manage and report on budgets, contributing to financial planning
* Assist in developing risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SHE4) for complex activities
* Conduct health and safety audits, ensuring policy adherence and continuous safety improvements
What should you bring to the role?
* Experience leading a high-performing operational team
* Strong people and performance management skills
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Business and stakeholder awareness, with problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* IT literacy, including SAP systems knowledge
* Experience in the Wastewater industry is desirable
