Role Description
The position is based at the London office, with the option to work from home for up to two days a week following completion of the initial training period.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing and maximising commercial relationships and opportunities originating in the UK, covering both local and international projects. This role reports directly to the UK Country Head and focuses on projects within luxury hospitality, retail, residential, and marine industrial sectors.
Typical projects involve the production and installation of furniture and case goods designed by world‑renowned interior designers. These projects may comprise specific furniture or case goods elements, as well as complete fitouts which require the manufacturing of all furniture and case goods elements tailored to client requirements.
The Commercial Manager will oversee the commercial relation and some of the processes between UK clients and international manufacturing plants, where all carpentry, case goods, and furniture are produced.
A basic understanding of technical requirements and drawings is required to support and review internal costing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for UK clients, leading design teams employed by clients. This includes conducting technical reviews and managing the design development process from concept through manufacturing and construction.
* Initiate and support commercial activities prior to project commencement in the UK. This entails attracting new clients and projects through various commercial campaigns, such as email campaigns, direct meetings, and conferences.
* Provide oversight during projects, monitoring project management completed by internal departments and identifying commercial opportunities that arise throughout the project life‑cycle.
* Undertake commercial duties requiring travel within the UK and internationally.
* Attend and, when necessary, schedule regular in‑person and virtual meetings to review project progress. Conduct site visits to the Spanish factory to develop commercial opportunities and, if required, monitor production quality and buildability for clients.
* Support all commercial activities leading to the execution of new contracts with clients, including UK JCT contracts.
* Possess knowledge of UK Design and Build regulations relevant to large UK projects, with oversight of compliance with UK Building Regulations and Quality Assurance standards.
Preferred Skills
* Fluency in both Spanish and English.
* Experience managing commercial campaigns and relationships, delivering sales in high‑end carpentry and furniture, construction, or related industries.
* Proven expertise in overseeing operations within high‑end carpentry and furniture, construction, or a comparable sector.
* Knowledge of the JCT Contract Framework and its elements applicable within the UK.
* Technical proficiency in understanding CAD technical drawings.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for managing relationships with clients.
