Primary School Teacher (SEND Specialist)
* Annual Salary: £168 - £215 per day, depending on experience
* Location: Chorley
* Job Type: Full-time, long-term, starting on Mon 9th March 2026 until the summer
We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join a mainstream primary school in Chorley, specialising in a SEND class that ranges from Reception to Year 6. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and skilled in supporting diverse learning needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Lead a class of 20 students with varying special educational needs and disabilities.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students.
* Work collaboratively with another teacher and teaching assistants to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.
* Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs and abilities of the students.
* Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting strategies as needed to support individual learning outcomes.
* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their children's progress and any concerns.
* Participate in school meetings and professional development opportunities related to SEND education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience in a SEND environment or extensive knowledge of special educational needs.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to create inclusive learning experiences.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and parents.
* Patience, creativity, and a commitment to providing high-quality education to students with diverse needs.
