Interim Financial Accountant (Charity, City Centre) Location: Belfast City Centre Job Type: Full-time Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Our client seeks to appoint an interim Group Financial Accountant to their busy Finance Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, this role involves managing the financial accounting team and ensuring the financial integrity of the organisation. The successful candidate will be pivotal in enhancing financial controls and supporting cross-departmental collaboration. Day-to-day of the role: Ensure complete and accurate recording of the organisation's financial transactions with appropriate documentation. Conduct monthly Balance Sheet and income/expenditure reconciliations. Manage timely financial reporting to external bodies and ensure compliance with HMRC/Revenue requirements including VAT and Corporation tax. Oversee the organisation's audit programmes and the preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with current accounting standards. Lead treasury management activities, including maintaining bank mandates and managing online banking services. Develop and implement financial control processes to improve month-end procedures and financial reporting accuracy. Monitor organisational cash flow and perform cash flow forecasting. Manage, develop, and support the financial control teams, fostering a high-performance culture. Required Skills & Qualifications: A fully qualified Accountant with proven experience in financial management and accounting within a similar role (3 years). Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams. Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and compliance requirements. Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a willingness to lead software implementation projects.
