A unique opportunity has arisento join the Acute Response Team as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner.The ART is a recently formed innovative team and we now have opportunity toexpand the team. The ART covers a 24/7 service responding to referrals forunwell and deteriorating patients across all adult wards and departments at TheRotherham NHS Foundation Trust, monitoring of ICU step downs and providestrust-wide education on NEWS2 & management of deteriorating patients whilstalso providing some support to the out of hours medical teams. We are seekingto recruit an enthusiastic, innovative, and driven individual to the AcuteResponse Team from nursing or AHP background, applicants should have experienceof caring for acutely ill patients ideally within critical care/emergencydepartment or similar backgrounds.Interested candidates are encouraged to discussthe post with the named recruitment lead and an informal visit can be arranged
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provideclinical expertise, leadership, collaboration and education to ensure thatpatients at risk of deterioration gain effective, appropriate and timely care.The trainee ACP (post holder) will engage directly with all members of themulti-disciplinary team in the prevention of and management of deterioratingpatients working closely with the on call medical and critical care teams. Thepost holder will undertake advanced clinical assessment, initiateinvestigations and interpret their results so clinical diagnosis can bedetermined and appropriate treatment initiated. The post holder will useadvanced knowledge and skills to provide autonomous practice to patientsincluding independent clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patientsat risk of deterioration, preventing admission to critical care and whererequired supporting that admission. The post holder will support trust wideeducation of staff in recognising and responding to deteriorating patients.
