Job Summary
We are seeking a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join us on Salus ward. This is an exciting opportunity for both newly qualified nurses, who would be supported through our preceptorship programme, and experienced nurses looking to expand their skills.
Salus Ward is a 16-bed acute ward providing care for adults with mental health needs. You will be part of a friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team, using your skills to support patients on their recovery journey.
We promote learning, development, and growth. For newly qualified staff, we offer a well-established preceptorship linked to our CPD programme. Experienced nurses will be supported to maintain professional links through regular CPD opportunities.
We provide a robust supervision framework and clear clinical and leadership development programmes.
Main duties of the job
* Assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
* Provide the named nurse role to patients.
* Promote and improve the quality of service provided.
* Manage the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager / Team Leader.
* Participate in internal rotation including weekend shifts.
* Be a proactive member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide individual and group clinical/therapy work.
* Demonstrate leadership and guide non-qualified staff and students.
* Maintain therapeutic relationships respecting patient dignity and promoting growth.

Person Specification
