Purpose of the role
Being a Senior Financial Accountant at Airport Dimensions is an excellent opportunity that will give you exposure to all aspects of the finance and the wider business. This role sits within the EMEA & APAC team, focusing on the EMEA region whilst supporting at the global level. The successful candidate will have to be organised, self-motivated with a desire to constantly improve.
You will be responsible for supporting the senior management team by providing accurate and insightful information that helps drive performance, whilst delivering quality financial statements on time along with the necessary reconciliations and analysis to ensure we adhere to our stakeholder obligations.
Key Responsibilities
•Managing and monitoring the integrity of the management and financial data used for Board Reports, statutory accounts, management accounts, budget and forecasts; resolving issues identified and liaising with stakeholders as required.
Accounting
* Manage the monthly closing process including month end journals, intercompany reconciliations, and preparation of the monthly management accounts
* Raise customer invoices, recording and allocating receipts and doing regular credit control
* Record supplier invoices, managing supplier reconciliations and setting up payments
* Monthly bank reconciliation
Statutory and corporate
* Responsible to deliver statutory accounts for the UK entities including notes to the accounts with agreed timeline
* Assist the external audit process
* Manage quarterly VAT return submission and other tax compliance
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements – Companies House, HMRC etc.
Management information
* Manage monthly consolidated management reporting process
* Prepare value-add analysis and commentary on monthly results for inclusion in the Board Report
* Provide standard and ad-hoc internal reports and analysis
Forecasting and planning
* Prepare weekly cash flow forecast and monthly Capex forecast
* Support annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecasting process
* Facilitate labour planning with the regional Operations team
* Analyse variances to improve forecast accuracy
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
* Strong financial accounting skills, including working knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS 16
* Advanced Excel skills including sumifs, vlookup and pivot table. VBA and Power Query desirable
* Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Project management experience
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* We expect to be transitioning our core financials system from Access Dimensions to Microsoft Dynamics, so experience of both would be preferred.
* We have just implemented a new forecast and planning tool, so experience of Tagetik would be an advantage.
* We utilise Iris Accounts for our statutory preparation software, so experience of this would be an advantage.
* Experience of process automation and/or financial modelling desirable
